Character Meets Shiba Inu: A Morgan Moment

According to my Googlism search, character is defined as what you do when no one is watching. Sunder and I are very proud of Kaitlin, our newly-inducted college student. We are extremely proud of her for her accomplishments, but yesterday was a proud day for a different reason. Picture pouring rain, hail coming down, and trying to drive your new car home safely. Then you spot a dog standing in the street, narrowly avoiding being hit by two different vehicles.

Now picture Kaitlin calling Sunder, asking if she can bring him home. And she did, and here is where our Thursday changed. Meet Hachi, the Shiba Inu that stood collarless in the street. Sunder and Kaitlin made sure he was bathed and fed, then took him to the local animal shelter. Needless to say, they returned home with him — much to Mommy’s big time shock! We were talked in to keeping him for four days. Go ahead! Do it! Check back with me in four days. Do you think I’m succumbing to the pressure to keep him? Heck no; we already have two dogs.

Check out Hachi’s mini photo session below. He’s smart, calm, great with kids, and has both cataracts and a hearing impairment (my specialty). If he belongs to you OR you know the perfect home for him, holla back! Now, shall I conclude that Kaitlin has character or that she is a sucker? I pick character, because when no one is looking and everyone else drives on, she puts her own worries aside to take care of those less fortunate. That’s my girl…
